Bio

I’m a Glaswegian gadget freak in my late fifties. I’ve always had an interest in computers since the ZX Spectrum and the BBC. I’ve also always been a keen amateur photographer with a Voigtlander when I was 12, through Canon, Pentax, Olympus etc. I downsized to a Canon compact for a while, but now have a 7D.  Its HD video possibilities swayed me finally.

I’m a Quantity Surveyor by training specialising in the Petrochemical Industry which has allowed me to travel and work around the world in places such as Australia, Holland, Egypt and the Middle East, Norway and most recently in Libya. I am now back in Newcastle, which is my base.

I love sport of all types and try to get to see the Toon and the Falcons whenever I can. I try to keep fit with running and cycling now that I’m too old for football and rugby. My chiropractor denies me my other great loves; golf and tennis.
